She was predeceased by: her parents, Tommie Beauford Baker and Martha Wayne Wood Baker; and her sister Brenda Brown. She is survived by: her children, Ginger Brindle Slate, Serena Brindle Nichols (Tony) and Van Christopher Brindle; her grandchildren, Christian Slate (Brittany), Hayden Slate, Emma Grace Slate, Landon Nichols and Luke Nichols; her great grandchild Asher Lee Slate; her sister Barbara; her brother-in-law Douglas "Peanut" Freeman; her brother Tommy Wayne "Buster" Baker; and her siblings-in-law, Debbie and Gary Brown.
