It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jody Grey Payne of Dobson, North Carolina, who passed away on January 10, 2026, at the age of 53, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Ray Payne and Dorothy Mae Branch Cave; his siblings, Gaynell Hayslip, Janice Payne and Kenneth Payne; and his grandson Coalson Payne.
He is survived by: his children, Matthew Payne and Morgan Payne; his siblings, Kathy Pegram (Richard), Pat Brookes (Mickey) and Tony Payne (Patsy); his close friends, Kris Dockery (Jill), Philip Cave (Dena), Luke Cave and Chris "Tiny" White (Michelle); and the mother of his children Mercie Payne. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews; many cousins.
