She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Edward Stanley and Winifred Hannah Taylor Stanley; her husband James Houston "Jay" Atkins; her brother Mitchell; her sisters-in-law, June Stanley and Wanda Stanley; and her brother Pete Stanley.

She is survived by: her daughter Teresa Atkins Ray; her son-in-law Gene Ray; her son James Madison Atkins; her daughter-in-law Michele Atkins; her granddaughter Chelsey Madyson Atkins (Noah Willard); her brother Danny; her sister-in-law Linda Stanley; and her brother David Stanley. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
