He was predeceased by: his parents, William Burkett and Lady Dell Burkett; and his siblings, Johnny Bill, Ethel, Robert, Faye and Roger.
He is survived by: his wife Christine Burkett; his sons, Andrew Burkett (Rhonda) and Jay Burkett (Blake); his grandchildren, Kole, Jaelyn, Jacob and Kade; his siblings, Angeline, Ann, Cynthia "Tootsie", Jesse, Eugene and David; and his daughter Kimberly Whaley (family: Ginger Edwards).
