It is with sadness that the passing of Doris Elizabeth Jones Sutton (Dudley, North Carolina) is shared. Doris, born on June 19, 1936, passed away on October 30, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Bertha Kelly and Daniel Jones Sr.; her husband John "JW" Whitfield Sutton Sr.; her children, Linda Gail Sutton and John "Johnny" Whitfield Sutton Jr.; and her siblings, Margaret Williams, Gracie Kelly, Daniel "DJ" Jones Jr., James Jones and Donald Jones.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Jonathan Michael Sutton (Lindsey Newman Sutton), Blake Daniel Sutton (Katie Gurley Sutton) and Holly Elizabeth Jackson (Steven Luke Jackson); her great grandchildren, Michael Joseph Sutton, Lucas Grey, Ayden Blake Sutton, John Luke Jackson and Avery Kate Sutton; and her sister Faye Whitman. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Wayne Memorial Park (2925 US-117, Dudley, NC 28333).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St Jude's Children's hospital in Doris' name, which is where Doris would tithe her money monthly, or to the Alzheimer's.
