He was predeceased by: his parents, Addie Lee Gurley and Sarah Blanche Best Gurley. He is survived by: his wife Vickie Herring Gurley; his sons, David Gurley (Nidia) of LaGrange and Michael Gurley (Shannon) of Dudley; his stepchildren, Shannon Collings of Goldsboro and Devin Herring (Kisha) of Goldsboro; and his grandchildren, Sarah Gurley, Samantha Gurley, Mackenzie Soto, Joshua Kelly (Megan), Katelyn Kelly, Isaiah Herring and Isaac Herring.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Mausoleum Chapel. A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Wayne Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel (2925 US-117, Dudley, NC 28333).
