Though Monica may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She is survived by: her parents, Carlos Zamora Rodriguez and Estella Reyna Zamora; her husband Tomas Leon; her children, Esteban Leon, Erica Leon and Juliana Leon; her grandchildren, Magdalena Leon, Ezekiel Leon and Ivan Leon; and her siblings, Veronica Lopez (Juan), Brenda Zamora Lopez (Gabriel) and Carlos Zamora, Jr..
Visitation was held on Sunday, May 10th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home (2873 US-117, Dudley, NC 28333). A funeral service was held on Monday, May 11th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church of Mt. Olive (3262 US-117, Mt Olive, NC 28365).
