He was predeceased by: his father R. A. Sasser, Jr.. He is survived by: his mother Harlene Aycock Sasser of Fremont; his wife Dana Green Sasser; his stepdaughters, C. J. Wilson (Josh) and Brooke Jones (Eric); his brother Rudy Sasser (Joy); his nephews, John Avery Sasser and Rudy Barden Sasser; his granddaughter Stella Rae Jones; and his stepbrothers, David Sasser, Jr. (Twilla) and David Brian Sasser (Renee).
A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Wayne Memorial Park (2925 US-117, Dudley, NC 28333). Visitation will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Richard's memory to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534, or to the Nahunta Volunteer Fire Department, 383 Pike Cemetery Road, Pikeville, NC 27863.
