He was predeceased by: his parents, Silas Whittenton and Esther Tart Whittenton; and his siblings, Donnie Whittenton, Tommy Whittenton and Brenda Whittenton Southers.
He is survived by: his nephew Jeff McCullen (Jai, family: Nicholas "Nick" McCullen, Jonathan "Jon" McCullen); his niece Vickie Whittenton Jernigan (Brian); his stepchildren, Dale Fortune (Frankie, family: Bobby Fortune, Avery Fortune) and Sarah; his sister-in-law Debbie Robbins Whittenton; his close friends, Betty Jean Dixon, Freddie Ellis, Jessica Olive (Aaron Horne) and Courtney Hart; and also Paul (family: Aaron Jackson, Nola Jackson Tripp, Ivy).
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Skinner & Smith Funeral Home (905 Erwin Rd, Dunn, NC 28334). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Skinner & Smith Funeral Home Chapel (905 Erwin Rd, Dunn, NC 28334).
