He was predeceased by : his parents, Leola West Williams and Michael A. Williams; and his siblings, John Williams (Greensboro), Sue Winkler (Hillsborough), Mary I. Davis (Florida), Anne Sherrill (Clemmons), Sally Norris (Carrboro), Lucy Williams (Goldsboro) and Frances Crawford (Fayetteville).

He is survived by : his wife Brenda Joy Williams; his stepdaughter Lynette Parrish of Garner; and his siblings, Michael Williams of Charlotte and Mattie Gregory of Raleigh.
