He was predeceased by: his father Dale James Metz; his grandparents, James, Ann Metz of Rochester, NY, Henry and Josephine Spas of Ashville, NY; and his pet Moonpie.

He is survived by: his daughter Annalise Susan Metz; his mother Susan Metz; and his sister Jessica Metz. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
