It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Anne E Carroll of Durham, North Carolina, born in Ellerbe, North Carolina, who passed away on December 9, 2022, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father James Oscar; her son-in-law Giles M. Whitcomb; and her granddaughter Isabel M. Whitcomb. She is survived by: her husband Jackson W. Carroll; her daughters, Susan Carroll Whitcomb of Hillsborough and Frances Carroll Strumph (Paul S. Strumph) of Moneta, Virginia.; and her grandchildren, Caroline Strumph Schnapp (Michael), Matthew Strumph (Caroline), Philip, Genevieve and Arlo Whitcomb. She is also survived by four great granddaughters.
