We are sad to announce that, on August 7, 2025, at the age of 78, Annie Holt (Durham, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Annie may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Annie touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Edward Prentice and Nora O'Neil Duckett Prentice; and her siblings, William, Colie Prentice and Sylvia Prentice.
She is survived by: her children, Kimberly Dianne Cates (Danny Roberts), Jerry Wayne Cates, Jr., Jonathan Wayne Cates (Donna) and Edward Dwayne Cates. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren.
