She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther Randolph Scoggins and Mary Lillie Moore Scoggins; her husbands, Bradley John "BJ" Powell and Luther Ellington Jackson; and her son James Bradley Powell.
She is survived by: her children, John David Powell (Ashley), Joseph Scott Powell, Vivian Powell Whitman (Jack) and Sue Coldwell; and her grandchildren, Angie Perry, Bobby Perry (Katina), Chris Powell (Michelle), Barbie Mangum, Chelsea Wilbourne (Lance), John David Jr. Powell (Laken), Olivia Powell, Tinley Powell, Rylan Hudson, Cole Hudson, Tina Hendrickson (Allen), Jack Whitman (Tammy), Ken Whitman (Jennifer) and Cari Whitman. She is also survived by many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
