She was predeceased by: her parent Stela Ana Draghiciu Mathe. She is survived by: her father Alexandru Mathe; her husband Brett A. Roberts; her daughter Stela Alice Roberts; her stepdaughter Ruthie Roberts Stone (Harrison); her mother-in-law Alice Roberts; her siblings, Stela Monica Mathe (Kader Benmokkadem), Erika Gyongyi (Mario Marcello) and Sandor Mathe (Gabriela Moldovan); her nieces, Marcella Di Mauro (Dario C. Ruma), Alexandra Mathe and Christina Serban (Vasile D.); and her great-niece Amina Serban.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Immaculata Catholic School: 721 Burch Ave., Durham, NC 27701; or Junior League of Durham and Orange Counties 900 S. Duke St., Durham, NC 27707.

“Dear Ms. Roberts, this is Kacy m.I am a student at Immaculata Catholic School.It is extremely hard to say good bye but I have always recognized your bright and vibrant energy that was every lasting. Always putting smiles on kids faces when you would help out around the school.You have always been my favorite class volunteer.We all miss you so much.As I sit here in tears writing this letter I want to finish up by saying we all love you with our whole hearts and we miss you so much.”

“I will always remember Codruta’s beautiful smile. It made her eyes sparkle. When Stela was about five years old, we had a family reunion at Terry and Norma’s house. Codruta and Stela were just arriving after a swim meet. Stela was a bit hesitant about all the people. Codruta softly explained that we were her relatives. Sensing Stela was confused… Codruta said, ‘you share their blood”. This really touched my heart. I still remember this moment. Love, Cecilia and Bryan Upchurch”
