He was predeceased by: his father Edmund Dandridge Milam, Sr.; and his wife Martha New Milam of Durham. He is survived by: his mother Justine Winn Milam of Nashville; his siblings, Jim Milam (Cindi), Justin Milam (Maureen), Chris Milam (Liza) and Mary Frances Kerr (Joe) of Nashville; his nieces and nephews, Allison Diehl (David), Justin "Jay" Milam, Jr. (Jen), Caroline Wright (Christopher), Kat Milam (Sean Berkowitz), James Milam, Jr. (Sara), Michael Milam, Molly Milam (Turner McBrayer), Matthew Milam, Kathleen and Anna Kerr; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Ari, Maren, Suzanna, Henry and Miles.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Westminster Presbyterian Church (3639 Old Chapel Hill Rd, Durham, NC 27707). A reception will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
