Daniel Max Kaplan Obituary
We are sad to announce that on December 11, 2025 we had to say goodbye to Daniel Max Kaplan (Durham, North Carolina). You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parent Berton Kaplan. He is survived by: his mother Ellen Kaplan; his wife Marian Abernathy; his children, Celie and Alex Kaplan; his brother Ron Kaplan (Barb Hipp); his sibling's children, Anna and Harris; and his pet Luna. He is also survived by his extended family, numerous colleagues and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Judea Reform Congregation (1933 W Cornwallis Rd, Durham, NC 27705). Dan was among the doctors who selflessly stepped up to staff the Covid wards at the beginning of the pandemic, learning and teaching about this new disease.
