She was predeceased by: her parents, Lehman William and Essie Thompson Lemons; her former husband Clarence M. Parrish; her brothers, Tommy and Phillip Lemons; and her brother-in-law Cecil Shaw.
She is survived by: her husband Jimmy McFarland; her children, Clarence Parrish (Debbie), Jay McFarland (Kenna), Deborah Lorbacher (Doug), Wanda Appel (Mike), Ginger Anderson (Mike) and Mitzi McFarland; her siblings, Louis Robert Lemons (Mary Ann) and Carolyn Shaw; her grandchildren, Scott Parrish (Kristin), Brooklyn Ladd (Kevin), Tyler Appel (Katie), Kyle Appel (MaryEllen) and Natalie Barber; and her siblings-in-law, Dee Lemons, Donna Lemons, Nancy McCallister and Tom McFarland. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hudson Funeral Home Chapel (211 S Miami Blvd, Durham, NC 27703). A funeral service was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A celebration of life was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Redwood Ruritan Club (4803 Cheek Rd, Durham, NC 27704).
