She was predeceased by: her father James Edward Lassiter; her husband C. T. Utley; and her siblings, Jimmy Lassiter, Billy Lassiter, Tony Lassiter, Barbara Hackney and Theresa Wilder.
She is survived by: her children, Curtis Thompson (Clara) of Bracey, VA and Karen T. Riley (Tony); her brother Jerry Lassiter (Theresa) of Roxboro, N. C.; her grandchildren, Elisha Riley, Dana Crowder (Josh) and April Lewis (Michael); her great grandchildren, Alaina Riley-Wingler, Chloe Lewis and Josiah Crowder; and her close friend Clarence Goss.
