He was predeceased by: his brother Stacey Daniel Cates; and his great-grandparent Mozelle Pearce. He is survived by: his parents, David Cates and Tabbetha Cates; his significant other Karen Paige Walls; his brother Christopher Cates (Shannon Pingle); his nieces, Oakley Cates and Noelle Sutton; his nephew Kayden Cates; his sister-in-law Anna Marie Cole; and his grandparents, Joseph and Erma Salazar.
