She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth Bailey and Estelle Bailey; her husband John A. Thompson, Jr.; her daughter Cassandra "Sandy" Weaver; her brother Charles Bailey; and her grandson Adam Thompson.

She is survived by: her sons, John A. Thompson III (Eriko) and Kenneth A. Thompson (Teresa); her sister Sherrill Murray (Bobby); her son-in-law Lonnie Weaver; and her grandchildren, Kevin Weaver (Andrea), Kelly Withers (Lee), Steve Thompson, Brad Thompson (Jennifer), Katrina Holland (Art), John "Chip" Thompson (Bonita) and James Thompson (Carolyn). She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
