It is with sadness that the passing of Dorothy Shepard of Durham, North Carolina is shared. Dorothy, born on September 18, 1951, passed away on September 18, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Dorothy will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. Friends and family will honor Dorothy by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence she had in their lives. Though Dorothy is no longer present, the bonds she created and the experiences shared will endure. Dorothy’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew her.
She is survived by: her sons, Thomas Lockamy of Durham, NC and Chris Lockamy (Ebony) of Raleigh, NC; and her siblings, Betty Cogdell of Fayetteville, NC and Freddie Lane, Sr. of Clinton, NC. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Union Grove Church of Christ (716 Lisbon St, Clinton, NC 28328). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at the Sandhill Cemetery (3 Sampson St, Clinton, NC 28328).
