With sadness, we share the passing of Douglas Caswell Richards of Durham, North Carolina. Douglas, born on March 13, 1942, passed away on August 26, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Caswell and Lizzie Underwood Richards; his wife Linda Richards; his daughter Patricia Gail Richards; and his siblings, Bobby Richards, Lucy Herndon, Kathryn Barron and Jackie Weatherspoon.
He is survived by: his daughter Lisa Obranovich (Richard); his grandchildren, Megan Obranovich and Nicholas Richards; and his great grandchild Leona Richards.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Hudson Funeral Home (211 S Miami Blvd, Durham, NC 27703). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses (3202 Silver Star Dr, Durham, NC 27713).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, an organization that was near and dear to Doug.
