Elsie Worley Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elsie Worley of Durham, North Carolina, who passed away on October 21, 2025 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Waverly Pearce and Molissa Talton Pearce; and her brothers, William Waverly Pearce Jr. and Billy Hardy Pearce. She is survived by: her husband Hardy Leo Worley; her children, Karen Mangum (Ronnie), Andy Worley (Jane) and Gary Worley (Sharon); her sisters, Shelvy Clapp (Bill), Rachel Penny (Johnnie) and Judy Yates; and her grandchildren, Christi Hughes (Matt), Josh Mangum (Phyllis), Samantha Powell (Matt), Amanda Worley, Spencer Worley (Hattie), Ryan Worley (Amy), Kasey O'Connor (Chris) and Holt Worley. She is also survived by nine great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Duke Children's Hospital in honor of Mrs. Worley's love for family and community or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
