She was predeceased by: her parents, Marion E. "Doc" Thompson and Annie Bogue Thompson; and her sister Margie Thompson Robinson. She is survived by: her husband Eslie Cornelius Sykes, Sr.; her sons, Eslie "E. C." Cornelius Sykes, Jr. (Susan), Edward "Eddie" Wayne Sykes (Dawn) and Mark Thompson Sykes (Joan); and her sister Melba Thompson Laney (Stuart). She is also survived by Six grandchildren and a growing number of great-grandchildren.
