He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wesley Holder and Lillie Lee Fletcher Holder; his wife Nannie Clifton Holder; and his siblings, Broncho, Arthur, Robert, Rex, John Jr., Charles, Hallie Appelt, Virgia Johnson, Nora Tuck and Christine Eakes.
He is survived by: his sons, Ricky Holder (Teresa) and Matt Holder; his granddaughters, Jessica Hale (Steven) and Brandie Jeffries (Jeremy); his great grandchild Gage Jeffries; his siblings, Don Holder (Patricia) and Maxine Thomas; and his pet Opie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Hudson Funeral Home (211 S Miami Blvd, Durham, NC 27703). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Family Cemetery (415 Broach Rd, Durham, NC 27703).
