It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gilbert Vick of Durham, North Carolina, who passed away on March 5, 2026, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Elliott Vick and Betsy Patterson Vick; his son David Elliott Vick; and his sister Mildred Vick Wilkinson. He is survived by: his wife Laura Anne Greer of Whiteville; his children, Brian Jackson Vick (Melissa) of Oak Island, Anna Elizabeth Vick (Andy Thon) of Washington and Stephen Greer Vick (Kara Lynn Pittman) of Chapel Hill; his grandchildren, Viridiana Pittman Vick Rankin (Zachary) of Durham, Clara Marguerite Thon of Washington and Vivienne Greer Thon of Washington; his great grandchildren, Zachary Greer Rankin of Durham and Jackson Berry Rankin of Durham; his siblings, George Elliott Vick, Jr. (Anne) of Kinston, Simon Patterson Vick (Gretchen) of Kinston, Betsy Vick Leder (Charles) of Miami, FL and Laura Vick Dillard of Raleigh; and his brother-in-law Andy Wilkinson of Raleigh.
