He was predeceased by: his parents, John Riles Bagwell, Jr. and Ruby Mae Bagwell. He is survived by: his wife Cindy Bagwell; his children, Amber Cagle, Cassie Clark and Kirk Bagwell, II; his grandchildren, Warren, Walter, Waylon, Carter and Ruby; and his brother John Riles Bagwell III.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
