It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Harvey Louis Wensel of Durham, North Carolina, born in Columbus, Ohio, who passed away on December 28, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Lester Wensel and Helen Lorraine Dykes; his wife Pauline Maness Wensel of Durham; and his grandson Cameron Bass. He is survived by: his sisters-in-law, Irene Maness of Durham and Suzanne Wensel; his nieces, Barbara Wensel, Valerie Wensel of Garrettsville and Karen Branham (Alvin) of Ravenna; his nephew David Wensel of Garrettsville; his stepdaughter Cindy Bass; his grandchildren, David Allen Bass, Joshua Bass and Lynne A Cortes-Bass (Efrain); and his great grandchild Joshua Cameron Bass. He is also survived by his family, his neighbors, his students, his friends.
Memorial donations may be made to Nelson United Methodist Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
