She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Stovall Knott and John Henry Knott; her husband George Arthur "G. A." Franklin, Jr.; her daughter Sue Franklin Jackson; and her siblings, Page Knott and William Knott.
She is survived by: her daughters, Mary Ann Franklin (Will) and Myra Franklin (John) of Durham. She is also survived by five grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
