She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Johnson and Alberta King Johnson; her husband Ollie Southern, Jr.; and her children, Sharon Southern Stewart and James "Moon" Swanson.
She is survived by: her children, Sandra Echols (Melvin) of Blanch, NC, Barbara Moore of Anderson, Angela Southern of Milton, NC, Julius Swanson (Sharon) of Danville, VA and Shaun Southern of Milton, NC; her sister Earlee Yancey of Pelham, NC; her daughters, Doris Wright, Sonya Moore, Wanda Williamson and Patsy Lipscomb; and her close friend Juanita Brim. She is also survived by grandchildren; a host of precious great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.
