She was predeceased by: her parents, Friedrich Karseboom and Lucie Karseboom; her husband Fred Hertz; and her brother Avner Karseboom. She is survived by: her children, Ethan (Victoria) of Durham, NC, Dorit (Teven Laxer) of Sacramento, CA and Caryn (Lawrence Marks) of Chapel Hill, NC; her grandchildren, Aaron Hertz (Elizabeth), Joshua Hertz (Amanda), Noah Marks (Hannah Schutzengel), Samuel Marks (Kathleen Vogel), Benjamin Marks, Nomi Weiss Laxer and Gabriella Laxer; her great grandchildren, Rebecca Hertz, Vincent Hertz, Micah Marks Schutzengel and Lucian Young; and her brother Arie Karseboom (Myra) of Haifa, Israel..

Memorial donations may be made to The Forest at Duke Employee Appreciation Fund, Duke Hospice, Hadassah or the American Society for Yad Vashem.
