He is survived by: his wife Jean L Cates; his sons, Dwayne (Anita), Roderick and James F.; his grandchildren, Chanelle, Kendrick, Ryan, Cameron, Aniyah and Jhamari; his great grandchildren, Amir, Ava, Aston and Arthur; his siblings, Lugenia Parker (William 'Buck'), Hannah Cates Harris, Pearl Cates-Bullock, Mary Curry, Marie Cates Currington, Evelyn Jean Cates, Pauline Cates, Claudine Cates, A. Samuel Cates, Rev Goldsmith Cates (Amay) and Joseph Cates; and his aunts, Lizzie Mayo and Ester 'BabyJoe Edwards. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
