James Melvin Walters Obituary
We are sad to announce that on July 5, 2025, at the age of 77, James Melvin Walters of Durham, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As James Melvin departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though James Melvin may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy James Melvin leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Thomas Walters, Jr. and Mildred Lee McBroom Walters; his wives, Patricia Rogers Walters and Lenora Shaw Walters; and his sister Carolyn Frances Walters Harris.
He is survived by: his siblings, Marshall Thomas Walters, Ray Walters (Annette), Mary Ann Lunsford and Norma Roberts (Jimmy). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the Brooks and White Funeral Home (907 Durham Rd, Roxboro, NC 27573).
