He was predeceased by: his parents, Annie Teasley and Gene Teasley; his wife Nellie Ruth Teasley; and his children, James Teasley, Jr., Asa Teasley and Lydia Gail Ruth Teasley.
He is survived by: his children, Reginald Bruce Teasley (Maria) of Durham and Lavonia Ruth Teasley; and his siblings, Mary Wright, Sarah Vinson of New Jersey, William Teasley of New Jersey and Ben Teasley of Pittsburgh. He is also survived by nieces and nephews along with 36 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
