He is survived by: his children, Tonita Newman of Durham, Tyrone Newman (Lydia) of Chapel Hill, Bobby Newman of Durham, James Cates of Oxford and Tyesha Armstrong of Wilson; his grandchildren, Felita Newman of Durham, Zariia Ross of Durham, Yari Newman of Mebane and Sincere Newman of Durham; and his siblings, Faye Stanton of Roxboro, Edna Smith (Albert) of Roxboro, Ruth Ramsey of Burlington, Jerry Newman (Edwina) of Hillsborough, Jesse Newman of Roxboro and Larry Newman of Roxboro. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Cunningham and Nelson Funeral Home (87 Brookland Church Rd, Roxboro, NC 27573).
