It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jane Royal Owen of Durham, North Carolina, who passed away on July 18, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Richard L. Owen; and her son-in-law Charles "Mike" Smith. She is survived by: her daughters, Elizabeth O. Smith of Wilson, Lynda J. Owen of Raleigh and Kathryn O. Fluta (Mark) of Wilmington; her grandchildren, Michael Owen Smith (Becca) of Wilmington and Michelle S. Kopenitz (Jason) of Chapel Hill; and her great grandchildren, Max Kopenitz and Owen Smith. She is also survived by five granddogs.
