He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Chavis and Elizabeth Bullock Chavis. He is survived by: his stepson Rodney Currie; his daughter-in-law Sandra Holland; and his siblings, Bennie Chavis and Mary Jane Mayo. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and dear friends.
