She was predeceased by: her parents, Gilbert Henry Hageman and Enid Kathleen Whitlocke Hageman; her husband James Bruce Ellis; and her sister Charmaine Casey. She is survived by: her children, Michelle Pleasants (Steve) and Christopher Ellis (Paige); her grandchildren, Meghan Pleasants, Lauren Pleasants, Savannah Pruitt and Jimmy Ellis; her siblings, Andrea Peterson (Mark), Shirlie Pazos and Bruce Hageman; and her cousin England. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the ASPCA of Durham or to any US Veterans charity.
