He was predeceased by: his parents, John Watson Chappell and Annie Mae Denton Chappell; his son Michael Todd Chappell; and his daughter-in-law Didi Chappell. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Chappell; his son John Brian Chappell; his siblings, Larry Chappell (Connie) and Janet Jones; and his brother-in-law LeGrande Anderson (Robin). He is also survived by many nieces and a nephew.
