She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Walter and Dorothy Walter; her grandmother Florence Jenkins; her sisters, Alice Faye Walter, Catherine Johnson, Marlene Peace and Ethel Pierce; and her nieces, Angelia Johnson-Gillyard and LaRita T. Pierce.
She is survived by: her son Jerel O. Walter (Latisha) of Raleigh, N. C.; her sisters, Hazel Johnson of Norfolk, VA. and Dorothy Rose of Dendron, VA.; and her grandchildren, Jamison and Journee Walter of Raleigh, N. C.. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
