She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel Lamb and Martha Ruth Ligon Lamb; and her daughter Renee Whitfield Clark. She is survived by: her husband Ira Ray Whitfield, Jr.; her children, Christy Watkins Cumber (James) and Scott Whitfield (April); her grandchildren, Michelle Gardner (Glenn), Brian Pope (Jamie), Ray Whitfield (Jessica), Deanna Whitfield and Pete Tumscitz; and her brother Marshall Lamb (Ginny). She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
