We are sad to announce that on September 30, 2025, at the age of 74, Kathy Lamb Whitfield of Durham, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Kathy has departed this earthly realm, her legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May her spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel Lamb and Martha Ruth Ligon Lamb. She is survived by: her husband Ira Ray Whitfield, Jr.; her children, Christy Watkins Cumber (James) and Scott Whitfield (April); and her grandchildren, Michelle Holden (Glenn), Brian Pope (Jamie), Ray Whitfield (Jessica) and Deanna Whitfield (Pete Tumscitz). She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Clements Funeral Home (1105 Broad St, Durham, NC 27705).
