Though Kay Spainhour may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Kay Spainhour touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Edward and Helen Sides Spainhour; and her sister Ann Spainhour Craft. She is survived by: her significant other Mervin; her children, James Allen Garrison (Ruth) of Arden and Dawn Garrison Atkinson (Robb) of Raleigh; and her grandchildren, Sarah Atkinson Krivsky (Andrew) of Todd, Jacob Garrison of Arden and Hannah Atkinson of Ashburn, VA.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 from 9:45 AM to 10:45 AM at the Quaker Gap Baptist Church (2265 Flat Shoals Rd, King, NC 27021). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
