She was loved and cherished by many people including: her father Richard Karwehl; her mother-in-law Margarete; her husband Frederick Herzog; her daughter Dagmar Herzog; her son-in-law Michael Staub; her granddaughter Lucy Staub; and her sisters-in-law, Hannah Neugaard and Brigitte Karwehl.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in honor of Kristin Herzog can be offered through Pilgrim United Church of Christ to support two organizations serving the unsheltered in Durham: Urban Ministries and Open Table Ministry.
