Laura Brooks Smith Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Laura Brooks Smith (Durham, North Carolina), born in Jamesville, North Carolina, who passed away on August 4, 2022 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She is survived by: her daughter Marjorie; her husband John N. Smith; her daughters, Marchia Jones and JD; her son-in-law Ryan Anthony Brown, MD; her granddaughters, JD, Lauran Jones and Nia Brown; her sisters, Gloria Ray (Valentine), Selma Alston (Walt) and Rowena Sykes (John); and her siblings-in-law, Marie Revell, Wilma Perry, Shirley Sherard, Paulette Bryant, Edna Blue (Dan), Raymond Smith (Hannah), Ivy Smith, Turner Smith (Ilene), Malcolm Smith (Gwen), Byron Smith (Laurie) and Bernard Smith (Yvonne). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, friends.
