He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Calvin Daniel and Elma "Doll" Long Daniel; his wife Amelia Gillis Daniel; his sister Patsy Daniel Turner; and his siblings-in-law, Jack Slaughter, Strum Averette, Banks Turner, Earl Gillis, Carey Gillis and Esther Gillis.
He is survived by: his children, Gary Daniel Lisa Daniel (Laurie), Lynn Daniel Clippinger (Tedd) and David Daniel (Christy); his sisters, Jean Daniel Averette and Linda Daniel Slaughter; his sisters-in-law, Catheryn Gillis and Linda Gillis Clayton; and his grandchildren, Walter "Trey" Benton, III, Blake, Chandley Daniel, Andrew, Caroline, Carmen and Benjamin Clippinger.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Person Memorial Cemetery (3250 Durham Rd, Roxboro, NC 27573). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Brooks and White Funeral Home, Inc. (907 Durham Rd, Roxboro, NC 27573).
