We announce the death of Madeline Nelson Martin of Durham, North Carolina, who passed away on July 16, 2026, at the age of 81. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leslie Leonard Nelson and Rosie McAdams Nelson; her husband Ravenell Castine Martin; and her siblings, Clarence Nelson, Lonnie Nelson and Othelia Wilkins.
She is survived by: her children, Madeline "Susie" McRacken (William), Linda Moneymaker (Randy), Patricia Gail Martin (Butch), Michael Wayne Martin and Robert Glenn Martin (Betty); her siblings, Odell Nelson and Annie Lee Harrold (Gary); her grandchildren, Chad Martin (Sarah), Rachael Martin (Greg Penny), Katie Alex (Harry), Alison Bloodworth (Tyler), Casey Lindler, Will McRacken (Kenzi), Zachary Martin (Matthew McCarthy), Caden Lewis, Whitney Allen and Rachel Bloniarczyk (Joe); and her great grandchildren, Landon Bloodworth, Kensley Bloodworth, Taylor Bloniarczyk, Harrison Bloniarczyk and Justin Martin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
