He was predeceased by: his parents, Marshall Edward Yancey and Louise Watkins Yancey; and his brother-in-law Joe Currin. He is survived by: his wife Kay Yancey; his son David Yancey (Stephanie); his granddaughters, Mia, Ella and Lila; his sister Betty Lynne Currin; his brother-in-law Jimmy Cheatham (Becky); and his sibling's children, Jody Currin, Carrie Dostie, Cynthia Currin, Karman Cheatham and Kevin Cheatham.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Marty's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project.
