He was predeceased by: his former wife Anita Schrier Kirwan; his children, Arlene Kirwan Avellanet and Gary Kirwan; his children-in-law, Francisco Avellanet and Robin Tucker Kirwan; and his father Dr. Martin Smith Kirwan.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Gavin, Alexis Avellanet, Brendan and Kelsey Kirwan; his great grandchildren, Aidan, Noah Avellanet, Eleanor, Amelia, Knox and Gwynn Kirwan; his wife Anastasia Walsh Kirwan; and also, Wynne and Hannah. He is also survived by six brothers and sisters.
In lieu of flowers we suggest a donation in Martin's memory to either St. Matthew Church in Durham or Holy Family Catholic Church in Hillsborough, which he often attended in his final years.
