She was predeceased by: her parents, Rufus Mayo and Mary Hazel James Mayo. She is survived by: her husband John Andrew Yates; her daughter Angela Craig (Tim); her grandchildren, David Neal Askew (Carrie), Laura Vargas (Yeshua) and Timothy Chester Craig; and her sister Nurtia Bullock. She is also survived by great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Oak Grove Memorial Gardens (3712 Cheek Rd, Durham, NC 27704).
